Devlog #1: The MEGA Evolution & The Affection Store!

This is a huge update! I've added a ton of new features to the core game, including a new final evolution and the entire "clicker" store.

Here's a breakdown of what's new since the last build:

1. New Evolution: The "Mega" Form!

There is now a new evolution after the Adult stage: the Mega form.

• How to Get It: This evolution is based purely on Training. Once your pet is an Adult, you'll need to reach a total of 500 Training to unlock this new form.
• New Feature: Sprite Flipping! This new form is smarter than the others. It will automatically face left or right depending on which direction it's moving.

2. The Affection Store is Open!

This is the new "clicker" part of the game.

• New Currency: You now earn Affection points for all your hard work: petting, feeding, and cleaning.
• New Store Panel: All the upgrade buttons are now moved off the main screen. Just click the new "Store" button (in the bottom corner) to open the upgrade shop.

3. A Full "Clicker" Upgrade System

The store is packed with new upgrades you can buy with your Affection:

• Scaling Multiplier: You can now buy upgrades for your "Pet Pet" button (x2, x4, x8, etc.). The price scales, so see how high you can build it!
• Leveling Auto-Bots: You can buy the Auto-Cleaner, Auto-Feeder, and Auto-Trainer. These are now leveling upgrades!
  • Level 2 Cleaner (Golden Scoop) also earns you +1 Affection.
  • Level 2 Trainer (Intensive Training) gives +2 Training instead of +1.
• Passive Income: You can buy a Cozy Bed, Favorite Toy, and Pet Sitter to automatically generate Affection for you over time, even when you're not playing!

4. Polish & Quality of Life

• Floating Effects: Petting, feeding, training, and cleaning will now spawn little floating icons (hearts, food, weights, sparkles) for better visual feedback.
• Smarter Dialogue: Your pet is now "aware" of its needs. It will say different unhinged things if it's hungry or if it needs to be cleaned.
• RIP Sprite: When your pet dies, it will now be replaced by a gravestone (and you can restart).

What to Test

• What do you think of the new Mega evolution? Is 500 training too easy or too hard?
• How does the store feel? Are the prices for the upgrades balanced?
• Do the floating effects and new dialogue make the game feel more alive?
